This specification includes requirements for a full depth hot mix asphalt pavement patch and crack seal.
It specifies a Marshall Mix Design Asphalt AC-5, AC-10 or AC-20 based upon climatic conditions well as gradations for the aggregate binder materials. It references ASTM tests that must be met in the quality of the materials. It requires that the patch be saw cut and that at least 8 inches of compacted base course be replaced. It contains gradation and compaction requirements for the base material. It also contains a requirement that a soil sterilant be placed on the prepared base course before installation of the asphalt surface course.
It also includes crack repair requirements including routing and material requirements.
