Pavement Management software for site pavement managers.

Overview

SPMS is a fast, easy and powerful tool for Pavement Managers to manage their retail, commercial or educational facilities parking lot pavement maintenance in a user-friendly environment. SPMS was programmed to operate under the Windows™ family of operating systems and uses the Microsoft Access™ standard as its database. Its layout and feel are similar to other Windows programs that are familiar and comfortable.

SPMS allows the pavement manager to store, retrieve, sort and prioritize information about paved assets. It also creates cost estimates and lists that the manager can use for planning or for maintenance budgeting capital outlay requests. A pavement management system is an effective way to show due diligence in addressing pavement maintenance and public safety requirements.

Format

Instantly download program installation files.

Rating System Compatibility

SPMS does not generate pavement condition ratings from failure and distress criteria. It does store pavement condition ratings using a 1-100 pavement condition rating system that may be used with the PASER 1-10 rating system or with the Pavementmanagement system as explained in our eBook How to Identify Asphalt Pavement Problems.

System Requirements

SPMS has the following minimum operational requirements that must be met for the software to function at the most basic level:

  • Operating System: Windows 95/98/ME/NT4/2000/XP/Vista

  • CPU: Pentium class processor or greater

  • RAM: 16 MB

  • Disk Space: 10 MB software installation

Scenario Management Screen

In this screen you can search all of the records of any or all of the project files by date, rating, type of pavement, use of pavement and name to create maintenance scenario files. These files are used for isolating the performance of any given set of pavements or for planning the maintenance on specific subsets of pavement such as asphalt, concrete, parking only, sidewalk only, pavement rated between a given set of ratings, etc.

Edit Scenario Screen

In this screen you can edit all of the data in the scenario file. You can update information, resort data from lowest to highest, latest to earliest, earliest to latest, biggest to smallest, by alphabetical order, etc.

The Edit Scenario Screen is a powerful tool for you to keep track of and make meaningful lists of all of your pavement.

Cost Estimate Report

Here you can use assigned unit costs (see the Asphalt Costs Screen and Concrete Costs Screen) to complete cost estimates of any given scenario file. This is a powerful tool for you to quickly and easily prepare cost estimate reports for supervisors, boards, owners, etc.

Because Scenario Files are so flexible, you can easily generate cost estimates for an unlimited number of maintenance approaches. For example, you can generate a cost estimate for a single facility's pavement, for any subset of pavement at any given facility, for all parking pavements throughout a system, all concrete pavements throughout a system, etc. There are many combinations and possibilities.

Asphalt Costs Screen

This is the screen where you can assign unit costs for different asphalt maintenance types. You may also save any number of seperate asphalt costs files allowing flexibility and providing many useful combinations. You may wish to save seperate costs files for different seasons of bidding, for jobs with different quantities of work, for different geographic regions, etc.

This approach allows you to assign a unique set of costs to any given maintenance scenario allowing you flexibility and accuracy in establishing costs for budgeting purposes.

Concrete Costs Screen

This is the screen where you can assign unit costs for different concrete maintenance types. You may wish to save seperate costs files for different seasons of bidding, for jobs with different quantities of work, for different geographic regions, etc.

The Concrete Cost file approach allows you to assign a unique cost file to any given scenario file allowing flexibility and accuracy in establishing costs for budgeting purposes.

Prioritization Lists

Prioritization Lists allows you to quickly assess what pavement in your system (or various designated subsets of your system) is performing poorly or acceptably. Used in combination with the weighted average reports and scenario files, prioritization lists are powerful tools for you to zero in on the performance of specific types of pavement or combinations of pavement located in specific areas(i.e. how are the asphalt parking lots doing in the southwest region? or how do the apshalt roads compare with the concrete roads in the northeast?).
