This specification includes requirements for an International Slurry Seal Association (ISSA www.slurry.org) Type I slurry seal. It specifies an ASTM requirement that the asphalt emulsion binder must meet as well as specific aggregate gradations. The largest aggregate for a Type I slurry seal is specified. It also includes requirements for a latex additive and rate of mixture. This specification requires that the slurry seal coat is applied by a slurry mixing machine that has continuous flow and accurate application.
